At the end of October, Jaime Olaizola and Iván Franco of IDForest went to Italy to begin imlementing activities under direction of Gianni Dellroca from CNR-IPSP. In the biogenetic reserve of Vallombrosa and San Godenzo, they collected samples and carried out laboratory analyses with the aim of innoculating in Spring 2021. In San Godenzo, inoculations began with
- “truffle traps” of Tuber borchii and TuberGold-Pindstrup substrate
- Pisolithus tinctorius
to produce gourmet edible truffles and protect the chestnut trees from root diseases.
