Fundación General de la Universidad de Valladolid

In 1996, the University of Valladolid (UVA) created the General Foundation of the University of Valladolid (FUNGE) to strengthen its relations with companies and society in general, in addition to improving and managing other types of services provided. FUNGE is a non-profit public foundation completely controlled by UVA, which delegates by statute a series of functions such as:

  • Liaison with other entities for the development of activities that the University delegates.
  • Fundraising and financing.
  • Promotion and management of R&D&i.

In 1997, within the FUNGE, the Office for the Transfer of Research Results (OTRI) was established and registered by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (Nº96), and subsequently the UVA European Projects Office was created, whose mission is to provide a specialized and comprehensive advice to the UVA in the preparation, presentation and justification of European projects, acting as ‘management third party’.

FUNGE has its own communication department from where all the news related to the FUNGE and the UVA are managed, launched and planned dynamically both via the web and via social networks. FUNGE works together with the UVA Communication Office in relation to the dissemination of innovation. It also has the experience of organizing dissemination activities, conferences, workshops, partnering events and networking, both for projects (national and international) of the UVA and for collaborating companies.

At the suggestion of the Commission, FUNGE-UVA jointly coordinated 2 LIFE projects: THE GREEN DESERTS (LIFE09 ENV / ES / 447) and OPERATION CO2 (LIFE11 ENV / ES / 535), and participated as partners in LIFE INTEGRAL CARBON (LIFE13 ENV / ES / 001251), in addition to having approved 49 international projects from 2008 to the present. Both entities work as a perfect tandem to achieve the objectives. The experience of both in the development of this type of project is guaranteed in the face of its successful conclusion.
