The final monitoring planned at the end of the AfterLIFE period of the Mycorestore project was carried out in July 2026 by the IRNASA-CSIC team and the company IDForest.
They performed in vivo measurements of chlorophyll, flavonoid, anthocyanin and nitrogen balance indices in the leaves of trees at the project’s demonstration plots located in La Alamedilla, Linares de Riofrío and Valdelosa.
They also conducted a dendrometric analysis of the forest stands, in order to compare growth, branch mortality rates and tree defoliation in healthy and diseased plots relative to their initial state at the beginning of the project (2020) and their state at the end of the implementation period (2023).
Although the AfterLIFE period of the project has now concluded, efforts will be made to continue monitoring the plots in the coming years, subject to resource availability, in order to track the long-term evolution of tree health following the implementation of the strategies carried out during the project.
