The chainsaw practices have been taking place in the 2nd Sustainable Forestry Management course organized in Tavertet. Maiol Montané, from the Quintanas school is teaching everything related to forest management and chainsaw use. The students completed preparatory practices first at Mas Rajols farm and then have been carrying out practices in the beech forests surrounding the farm.
Important aspects of forest management have been taught in the course, including maintenance, cleaning, pruning and selective cutting techniques. The students have also learned about safety regulations, equipment maintenance, and emergency protocols related to chainwas use.
By acquiring these skills and knowledge the participants of the course will be able to apply sustainable forest management practices in their own forestry operations, contributing to the preservation and restoration of forest ecosystems.
