After the visit of the other MycoEconomy partners at the beginning of the year, the team in Cerdeira started to make a further inventory of their forests. Over the last months, and despite the COVID restrictions, a mapping was done of the most urgent areas to take action. These were decided on the basis of extremely high density of wood (high forest fire risk) and the presence of invasive species (such as Acacia and Eucaliptus). Whenever the sanitary situation allows we will start thinning and practicing alternative uses for the wood.
