On October 18 Dr. Gianni Della Rocca, Dr. Giovanni Emiliani and Vincenzo Di Lonardo (IPSP-CNR) realized a phytosanitary survey in a Chestnut coppice in Castagno d’Andrea (San Godenzo).

The conducted survey aimed to evaluate the presence/abundance of chestnut blight caused by the fungal pathogen Cryphonectria parasitica (lethal, healing and healed cankers were evaluated as well as the ratio of possible virulent/hypovirulent strains of the pathogen). Several samples were picked up for laboratory analysis.
