Volterra News MycoRestore

On Tuesday October 8th people form IPSP of Florence (Dr. Gianni Della Rocca, Dr., Mr. Vincenzo Di Lonardo and Dr. Giovanni Emiliani) moved to the pilot areas of MycoRestore LIFE project in Vallombrosa Biogenetic Reserve (old Chestnut coppice) and San Godenzo (Chestnut orchard) to identify the healthy and diseased Chestnut plants on which the treatments and surveys included in the project will be performed.

Each plant was marked, georeferenced and photographed and a second preliminary inventory of the macromycetes of both sites was realized.

At the same time a colleague from the Bioeconomy Institute (IBE-CNR) Dr. Laura Bonora, realized measurements to establish a baseline of Leaf Area Index for each plants (LAI-2000 Li-cor, Plant Canopy Analyzer).
