Last week, consortium members IRNASA-CSIC and Volterra travelled to Brussels to celebrate the Kick-off for all LIFE 18 Climate projects. The event took place in the capital on the 3rd and 4th of October and was attended by 30 other LIFE projects. Counting all the representatives of the new projects, NEEMO and EASME, there were around 100 people present.
During the first day, the large group broke off into smaller groups for more detailed discussions and individual project presentations.
LIFE MycoRestore was placed in WORKING GROUP A1: CCA in agriculture/forestry/tourism facilitated by Diana Oancea, EASME – Cornelia Schmitz, NEEMO.
Other projects in the working group:
- LIFE18 CCA/IT/001145 STONEWALLSFORLIFE
- LIFE18 CCA/ES/001099 LIFE MIDMACC
- LIFE18 CCA/ES/001109 LIFE Vida for Citrus
- LIFE18 CCA/ES/001160 LIFE ADAPTA BLUES
- LIFE18 CCA/FR/001184 LIFE ADAPT’ISLAND
Alvaro Peix (IRNASA-CSIC) presented the project, highlighting its close to market – C2M – approach and high replicability potential. As a follow up, LIFE MycoRestore will be applying for C2M support from the EASME team.

There were numerous occasions and coffee breaks where all projects could network with each other. LIFE MycoRestore and LIFE MIDMACC have already agreed to hold a networking event in Catalonia to facilitate the uptake of results from each other’s work.
The second day was dedicated to the communication strategy and financial aspects of the project. The communication session made VOLTERRA aware of a communication webinar that will be hosted by EASME on November 26th at 15h CET which they hope to attend.
