Field sampling at La Alamedilla

On December 17, project partners visited the demonstrative areas at La Alamedilla to continue working on the preparatory action A.1, “Mapping Forest Health”.

The working team, composed by Oscar González, Zuleica García (CSIC-IRNASA), Tamara Sánchez, Mariano Rodríguez, Mario Cardaño, and Irene Bocos (UVA), selected the areas and the trees to be monitored in the context of the LIFE Mycorestore project. Then, they selected healthy areas and those areas where diseases and/or pests were found to be present. Afterwards, the team measured the photosynthesis on each selected tree. Soil, wood, and bark samples were also taken from the different selected areas for future forest health assessments at later stages of the project.
