Dear,
We would like to draw your attention to the final phase of the Life Mycorestore project, which is working towards the adaptation of Mediterranean forests to climate change through sustainable forest management practices.
The EU’s new Forest Strategy for 2030 aims to enhance the contribution of forests and the forest sector to the EU’s climate objectives and support rural livelihoods and local economies. The Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 on the other hand is a broad and ambitious long-term plan to protect nature and reverse the current processes of ecosystem degradation.
The Life Mycorestore project aligns with the objectives of both policies by adding value to wood products and forestry waste streams as well as generating more resiliency, diversity and healthy forests through a series of novel techniques based on fungi and forestry practices. Our project aims to contribute to the policies’ successful implementation across Europe. We invite you to watch our project video for more details.
We also would like to invite you to join our Final Conference in Palencia (Spain) on the 21st of June, where policy recommendations and project results will be discussed.

Your participation and support will be crucial in ensuring that the results of the Life Mycorestore project are taken into account during future policy considerations, particularly in light of the new EU Forest Strategy, Biodiversity Strategy, Circular Economy and Climate change mitigation strategies.
